Need a new e-mail service?
The internet has dramatically changed the way in which we communicate in both our personal and business lives. The letter has been replaced by e-mail, making keeping in touch that much easier than ever before. That said, the way in which people choose their e-mail service is similar to the decisions made back in the days of paper and pen. Instead of picking the stationary and ink color that best suits your needs, e-mail users choose services that reflect their own personal style. Here are 10 of the most popular e-mail services out there today, in no particular order:
1. G-Mail – https://mail.google.com
Google has changed how we operate online in a number of ways, with their e-mail service among the most popular of the services they provide. The chat feature and incredible amount of storage make it the number one choice for millions of users.
2. Windows Live Hotmail – https://login.live.com/
The people that choose Hotmail as their e-mail service provider often do so because of the many cool organizational tools at their disposal. It also helps that they deliver unlimited storage to their users.
3. Outlook – http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/outlook/
More often than not the choice of people who need an e-mail application for business. The interface is incredibly easy to navigate, with plenty of great features for business e-mail.
4. AIM Mail – https://my.screenname.aol.com
What this service lacks in productivity (no labels, etc.) it more than makes up for in elegant design, storage space, and ease of use. One great bonus is the high level of spam protection that AIM Mail delivers, which ensures only the important messages get through.
5. Yahoo Mail – https://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?&.src=ym&.intl=uk
Delivering more than just e-mail, with the likes of SMS texting, instant messaging, and social networking, Yahoo Mail gives you a ton of ways to quickly and easily communicate with your contacts.
6. Zoho Mail – http://www.zoho.com/mail/
Another service that may be more suitable for business users, but which also offers tools to help the average user with organization. One of the biggest features for business users is the ability to integrate with several office suites.
7. iCloud Mail – https://www.icloud.com/
As the name probably immediately suggests, this is a free e-mail service provided by Apple. It is definitely one of the more streamlined options on this list, but the clean interface and smooth functionality make it a great option.
8. Shortmail – https://shortmail.com/
This most definitely not an e-mail service that is for everyone, but is great for those that just want to send short little e-mails with no mess or fuss. There is a 500 character limit on messages, which might make it a little restrictive for some.
9. Mail.com – http://www.mail.com/int/
The way in which this service filters out spam and viruses makes it a winner. While it may not be feature rich like some of the others on this list, it’s still a great service with a very nice looking interface.
10. Inbox.com – http://www.inbox.com/
While not unlimited like some of the others, Inbox.com still delivers 5 GB of storage, which should be more than enough for the vast majority of users. An easy to navigate interface and some nice additional features are enough for this one to sneak into the top 10.
