You can register on the site for free which is the way to go if you want to save your favorite patterns, add personal notes or quickly reference your patterns. Membership also lets you comment on patterns and provide ratings and reviews. There are a number of free eBooks on the site including some great tutorials.

KnitPicks is a great source for tutorials, patterns, yarn and tools. Although their name may imply they are just involved in knitting, they do also have crochet items. They have a number of yarns exclusive to them that are fantastic including a great diversity you won’t see many places. You’ll want to check in regularly because they often run fantastic sales and with free shipping for orders over $50, you’ll find yourself ordering from them pretty regularly.

If you are looking for a source for yarn and other items that has been around awhile, WEBS should fit the bill – they began 40 years ago! The site allows you to search for yarn by company, fiber or weight and they also have yarn closeouts to keep an eye on for great deals. The site also includes a number of instructional videos and they offer classes for sale for those wanting more elaborate instruction. They also carry supplies for crocheters, weavers and spinners.

If you don’t love it, you return it in a postage-paid envelope for a refund. What a great way to try out a unique yarn! They offer free standard shipping on web orders of $50 or more.
