Users probably won’t find one of these to resolve all their photographic needs, but since most are free or inexpensive it won’t be much of a bother to utilize a few of them.

The app is just a bit over a year old but they have already amassed quite a following with over 6,000 ratings with the current version holding a 5 star rating. 7. Photoshop Express

Apple:  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-photoshop-express/id331975235

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.psmobile&hl=en

Developer: http://www.adoberevel.com/apps/photoshopexpress

While this is nothing like its full version Photoshop counterpart in terms of features, it does have plenty of features for editing. Adobe has long been one of those product lines that users either love or hate, the reviews for this app are quite mixed and thus results in an overall 3.5 star rating for Apple and 3.9 for Android. The app itself is free but be prepared to shell out some bucks for effect packs. Not a bad app to have for using their one-touch filters and border/frame options.

8. Perfectly Clear

Apple:  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/perfectly-clear-photo-correction/id324321778?mt=8

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.worldiety.athentech.perfectlyclear&hl=en

Developer: http://www.athentech.com/products/iOS/

Tons of nice editing features including exposure correction, improve depth and contrast, correct color vibrancy, sharpening the images, removing tints caused by bad light, improve and smooth skin tone, eye enhancement, eye enlargement, teeth whitening and more. Current version is being rated pretty well at nearly 4 stars on Apple and 4.2 on Android. Even the default, autocorrecting pre-set works pretty decently.  While not a free app it is reasonably priced for the features it includes. Check out the before and after shots on the developer site for a taste of what this app can do.

9. Camera Awesome

Apple:  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/camera-awesome/id420744028?mt=8

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smugmug.android.cameraawesome

Developer: http://www.cameraawesome.com/

The hands down best feature of this app is their 1-tap Awesomize feature. There are also 100+ artistic effects for those that want to play on their own. The app itself is free but be prepared to shell out some money on the additional presets and filters or jump into the $9.99 Everything option. One note of warning, however, is that the 12/04/13 update version 1.1.9 seems to have some issues according to the ratings for it and some review comments so although the overall rating is 5.5 stars in Apple it is down to 3 stars for current version and only 3.7 in Android. It might just be best to watch for the next update which will hopefully get this app back to its usual high approval rating with users.

10. Flickr

Apple:  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flickr/id328407587
