There are no data storage limits – it is up to you how much data you store and for how long. They have a vibrant community to turn to. It doesn’t appear to be as flexible and customizeable as other offerings, but at this low price it might be a good option for secondary analysis or for small businesses. They began in 1999. It is completely interactive, go ahead and click on stuff to see where it takes you! They have been a leading provider of analytics solutions since 1999 and their products have been used on over 4 million websites. Pricing depends on the service level and then how many page views per month. A 10% discount is available for pre-paid accounts. It can also be used to track multiple websites – just pay for the sum of the traffic and  $1 per additional website tracked per month.

Reports are not fancy, but they do have all the data you need to make business decisions. Some of the benefits of OneStat include no log files to process, hosted service so no costly investments in IT infrastructure and it is scalable, reliable and secure.

Open Web Analytics is open source web analytics software you can use to track and analyze how people user your websites and applications. It is licensed under GPL. It was developed by Peter Adams and has been deployed by thousands of web sites and developers. The software is free, but they do encourage donations from their users to help fund new development. Users should subscribe to the RSS to keep in touch and be notified of new updates. They offer a support forum for getting help and connecting with other users.

Some honorable mentions for web analytics are Netbiscuits, Woopra, FoxMetrics, TrakkBoard and NextStat. Web analytics programs and software are designed for sites that receive at least 500,000 page views each month. If your site is smaller, you may just need a traffic statistic service. Since many of those listed offer a free trial or free version, that is a good place to start to see how it works for you. Analyse whether you can accomplish your goals with that particular service. If it is just data and you don’t use it, it is worthless and you are throwing away money as well as losing out on opportunities to use that information to better your business.
